Kenerly Honored With Two Awards at the Kidcreate National Franchise Conference

Kenerly has brought her passion for educating, working with children, and giving something back to the community to Kidcreate from day one! This past January, she was awarded with not one, but two awards at the Kidcreate National Franchise Conference.

Kenerly received the prestigious Rookie of the Year Award for being the franchise partner who best exemplified the expectations and excellence of what makes a successful Kidcreate Franchisee. Additionally, she received the Kidcreate Cheerleader Award after being chosen by her franchisee peers as being the franchisee who best exemplifies the qualities and attitude of a Kidcreate Partner.

Congratulations to Kenerly on these well deserved awards!

How Kenerly Found Our Art Studio Franchise

As a parent of two young children, Kenerly was looking for a career change that would allow her to spend more time at home with their family but also allow her the freedom to be in control of her own destiny. She wanted to go back to work after spending nearly three years at home with her two kids, Ziona and Laureate, but she wanted to do it on her own terms. After feeling comfortable with the idea to allow her kids to enter day care, Kenerly began to look for opportunities for her own career life. The opportunity to be her own boss and work for herself was very appealing, as was the possibility of being able to create her own flexible work schedule and bring balance to her family life.

Although she did not necessarily begin her search looking for franchise opportunities, she quickly decided that would be the best approach for herself. Kenerly had fond memories of putting her own kids in enrichment activities and was amazed at how much parents invest into their children through enrichment programs. She soon came across an advertisement for the franchise opportunity at Kidcreate while searching for businesses for sale and felt that it was the right fit for her situation. The idea of being involved in working with children just seemed to make sense since her own kids would definitely be involved in and around the family business themselves. Working with children has always been a passion for her- particularly doing art projects, which is something she enjoys doing at home with her own kids. Her kitchen is full of Fridge worthy masterpieces that her own kids created. Kenerly is looking forward to having the ability to invest in her children’s future and build a family legacy as a business owner as well as helping children in the community find their passion for art and creativity.

Kidcreate Studio’s First EVER Franchisee Conference

Kidcreate Studio’s First EVER Franchisee Conference

Kidcreate’s First Conference Was a “BLAST!”

Kidcreate recently held its first Annual Franchisee Conference and it was an unmitigated success! After the conference ended, Kidcreate franchisees were full of praise for the event.

Themed “Let’s Shoot for the Stars. Let’s Rock-It in 2023!” Kidcreate’s space themed conference was appropriately located in Cocoa Beach, FL near the Kennedy Space Center’s Cape Canaveral rocket launching facility.

Kidcreate’s Founder and CEO, Lara Olson kicked off the conference with an inspiring talk about her original vision for Kidcreate. She then shared insight into Kidcreate’s exciting future plans – such as goals for 2023 — while giving credit where it was due: to their hardworking franchisees bringing arts education to communities all over the nation!

Following Lara’s address, there were several breakout sessions where franchisees had a chance to collaborate with each other and discuss best practices for running their businesses. They talked about everything from marketing ideas to feedback on products and services that could help them grow their franchises better. It was truly amazing to see such enthusiasm during these sessions and it was evident that everyone involved was passionate about Kidcreate’s mission.

“At the conference, we were reminded of why our trust in leadership is so strong. With an impressive vision for where they want to take us, we now feel more confident than ever that this brand will be a winner!”

Federico Giraldo

Franchisee

The second day of the conference featured specific sessions focusing on topics like social media marketing, curriculum, and studio efficiencies. These sessions gave franchisees invaluable information on how to maximize their business profits while still maintaining a high level of service. By giving franchisees access to this type of information, Kidcreate has equipped them with valuable knowledge which will no doubt be beneficial for their business growth in the future.

Conference attendees capped off their conference with an unforgettable dinner and awards ceremony set against the backdrop of space exploration history at the Heroes & Legends gallery at the Kennedy Space Center. It was a night to remember!

Overall, it was a hugely successful event and one that will undoubtedly lead to even more growth for Kidcreate’s network of franchisees in the coming years! This Annual Franchisee Conference provided an opportunity for current owners to gather together and further develop relations amongst themselves while getting valuable guidance from those who have been working closely with Kidcreate since its inception. We are confident that this event will facilitate further progress within our networked family of entrepreneurs as they continue striving towards achieving excellence while working hard towards making art accessible to all children across North America!

“Seeing the franchisees build relationships and become friends is a huge part of why we come together every year. The opportunity for them to collaborate is priceless!”

Mike Conlon

COO, Kidcreate Studio

How Kidcreate’s Kidbits Help Children Learn About Their World

How Kidcreate’s Kidbits Help Children Learn About Their World

At Kidcreate Studio, we believe that art education is important for all children. It helps them to develop their creative thinking, motor skills, and problem solving abilities.

What is a Kidbit?

Kidcreate Studio’s art classes and curriculum are based around Kidbits. A Kidbit is short for “a kid bit of knowledge”. Each class starts with an introduction to the Kidbit for that day. The teacher then focuses on and hits upon the Kidbit many times throughout the class to ensure the kids leave class understanding what the Kidbit is.

One example of a Kidbit is learning about the art term “impasto.” Impasto is a painting technique where thick layers of paint are applied to the canvas. This creates a textured surface that can be interesting to look at and touch. Impasto is often used in abstract paintings. Van Gogh’s sunflower paintings are a great example of impasto.

Take a look at these beautiful paintings created by the kids in our art classes! These pieces were created using different painting techniques that the kids learned about in class. The kids used Plaster of Paris to create the texture in the painting. Kids don’t get to work with this material at school, so it is a really special project for them. Plaster of Paris is a type of plaster that can be mixed with water to create a paste. It dries quickly and is often used in art projects. And it’s extra messy so of course, the kids LOVE it! We are so proud of all of the hard work and creativity that our students put into their art.

A Kidcreate Studio art class is more than just an arts and crafts class. With Kidcreate’s education-based curriculum and the use of Kidbits, we can ensure that the kids leave class having learned something. Our classes are designed to teach kids about art history, art techniques, and much more. Contact us today to sign up for a class!

A Little About the Kidcreate Studio Franchise

KCS education franchise Founder Lara OlsonKidcreate Studio is an art studio just for kids, founded in 2007. Kidcreate provides art classes, camps, and birthday parties for children ages 18 months through 12 years at their studios and off-site with local educational partners through their On-The-Go Studio program.

Kidcreate Studio started as a result of one mother’s frustrations about the limited art exposure in the curriculum for her young child. Founder Lara Olson’s son Jake was often frustrated by other subjects but lit up like a lightbulb every time he was in art.

Lara knew the value of art to build self-esteem in learners and looked for a place to provide that for her son, but couldn’t find anything designed for young children in her area…so she decided to create one herself. Thus, Kidcreate Studio was born!

Now, Kidcreate Studio is blossoming into one of the major players in the education franchise space. Kidcreate Studio specializes in children’s art classes, camps, and art-themed birthday parties. It is an art studio designed just for kids! Kidcreate Studio Franchise Owners enjoy running a business that brings significant financial and emotional return-on-investment.
