craft franchise

We hope your 2020 is off to a great start, as it certainly is for Lindsay Sullivan, the owner of our Cedar Rapids, Iowa location! Lindsay and her Kidcreate Studio were recently featured in an article from The Gazette, a local Iowa publication. Check out some of her favorite moments of owning a kid franchise for entertainment with Kidcreate Studio!

Initially working as a nurse, Lindsay Sullivan didn’t always plan on being an entrepreneur. Having three children of her own, she had focused on being a stay-at-home mom for the past few years. However, Lindsay was always eager to get back to work. “I have a nursing background and was a stay-at-home-mom, but now that my youngest is in school all day, I know I wanted to go back to work and start my own business,” she describes. After working with a consultant, Lindsay came across Kidcreate Studio and was instantly hooked. Being tight-knit within her community, Lindsay saw Kidcreate Studio as an ideal opportunity to be involved with both her family and the local area of Cedar Rapids. “As soon as I heard about it, I knew instantly it was a perfect fit for our community. It’s a fresh idea, and my whole family could get involved with this,” says Lindsay. Not long after her initial inquiry, Lindsay was making already making preparations to open her franchise for children’s activities. It officially opened its doors in March of 2019.

Now, Lindsay is approaching her one-year anniversary with Kidcreate Studio, and she is sure that opening a kid franchise for entertainment was the perfect decision. She loves making a difference in the community, all while being her own boss and enjoying an ideal work/life balance. “I have really enjoyed being a studio owner,” tells Lindsay. “ … And the joy on the kids’ faces is, without a doubt, the greatest thing about this job. When I come out of my office and see the kids working on their creations, they are so proud of their work. That part of the job has been really rewarding.”

For Franchise Owners such as Lindsay, owning a franchise for kid’s activities is much more than just another business venture. It is a way to have a truly fulfilling career. Lindsay is truly making a difference in her community every day and helping to prepare children for future success, both socially and academically. As if she needed proof, several recent studies have proved this! According to a 2011-12 survey by the West Virginia Department of Education, “students with more art credits performed better on the ACT.” A 2010 report compiled by the Missouri Department of Education and the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education found that “students more involved in art, were less likely to have disciplinary problems.” Children’s art programs are something that are not offered enough within the public school system, and Franchise Owners such as Lindsay are crucial in combatting this problem. Her role within the community cannot be underestimated.

Aside from the sense of fulfillment that Lindsey feels every day, she also enjoys substantial profits owning a kid franchise for entertainment with us. An ample reason for this is because our curriculum caters to both the needs and the desires of children. Our classes are updated continuously to stay in touch with the latest trends, and the projects offered are customizable to fit whatever inclinations our students may have. “We draw in a lot of pop culture, everything that is popular with kids right now,” describes Lindsay. “We want kids to be excited to do art.”

Partnerships are a large part of the Kidcreate business model, and Lindsay is taking full advantage of them! Franchise Owners are encouraged to join forces with local community centers, schools, religious centers, and summer camps to widen their reach within the community. This not only brings art to more children but brings in more revenue to Franchise Owners! “I am gearing up right now to make additional partnerships for summer camps for next summer to bring art education to as many kids as possible,” tells Lindsay. “I recognize that I can’t serve all the kids in the community in my studio, but we can reach them out in the community.” Lindsay’s passion for bringing art to the masses is inspiring to all of us here at Kidcreate Studio, and she truly embodies the Kidcreate mission!

Owning a kid franchise for entertainment with Kidcreate Studio has done more than make Lindsay a successful entrepreneur. It has helped her become a leader in her community! Daily, she is helping to provoke creativity among the children of Cedar Rapids and preparing them for future success. And she is doing this all while getting to be her own boss and enjoying a tremendous work/life balance! The sky is the limit for Lindsay and her franchise for children’s activities, and we can’t wait to see what the future brings!
