Just in time for the fantastic Fall weather, our newest Kidcreate Studio is now open in Fairfax City, VA! Our marketing team was lucky enough to sit down with Franchise Owners Kainnayi Ko Sun and Hla Maung for an exclusive interview. Keep reading to discover why they chose to open their own art franchise for kids with Kidcreate Studio!
Kainnayi and Hla officially opened their new Kidcreate Studio on September 10th. The duo and their new art franchise for kids saw a huge turnout and welcomed families from all over the Northern, VA area to get messy! In Hla’s own words, “The studio couldn’t be in a better location!” The studio is in the middle of a neighborhood shopping center in Fairfax City just across from Burke. Kainnayi and Hla were able to secure a prime location within the shopping center and were able to reimagine a former bank location and transform it into a Get Messy Kidcreate art studio.
This opening represents months of hard work and dedication coming to fruition for the couple who spent a year working on creating the art studio for their neighborhood. Hla often talks about how comfortable he has always been visiting this shopping center and enjoying a cup of coffee at his favorite coffee house. Kainnayi and Hla signed their franchise agreement on September 8, 2021 and opened to a huge crowd of excited kids and families on September 10th, 2022.
The duo credits the support from the Kidcreate Studio corporate support team as playing a big part in their successful grand opening. The support from the corporate team was topped off with a grand opening visit from Kidcreate’s corporate trainer. Kainnayi describes the support she has received as “amazing” through every step of the process, from initial training to daily calls after the grand opening. “Everything has been laid out for us by the corporate support team throughout every step of the way, States Kainnayi. “It hasn’t been hard and there’s been no stress with the daily operation of things.”
When asked what the best part of owning an art franchise for kids with Kidcreate Studio was, Hla had a story to tell. You see, Hla is somewhat of a critic of business. He likes to visit local businesses and imagine how he might improve upon the business, making it more customer friendly or more appealing based on basic business principles. “That is how I got started with my interest in Kidcreate,” Hla states. He and his family found out about a Kidcreate Studio opening in Ashburn, VA and decided to attend its grand opening. Both Hla and Kainnayi were impressed and immediately became fans and customers of Kidcreate of Ashburn. While attending the Grand Opening for Kidcreate of Ashburn, Hla quickly realized that there was nothing about this studio that he could think of to improve upon. He thought this studio was perfect as he saw it! During the grand opening, Hla spoke with a Kidcreate representative who sold him a family membership to the studio. Hla commented on how much he loved the idea only to discover that Kidcreate was a franchise concept. And that is what led Kainnayi and Hla to investigate the Kidcreate business.
Not only did they investigate the Kidcreate business model, they bought into the concept with the rights to open TWO studios. The Fairfax City studio location was their first endeavor into the world of Kidcreate.
But according to Hla, things soon got even more interesting. It turns out that Kainnayi and Hla were given the opportunity to purchase the existing Kidcreate Ashburn location. And with no hesitation at all, they leaped together into purchasing the Kidcreate Ashburn location while they were building out their “first” Kidcreate Studio in Fairfax City.
And just like that, Kainnayi KoSun and Hla Maung are the proud owners of TWO KIdcreate Studios in Northern, VA. When Hla was asked about what is next on the horizon for the dynamic duo, he very excitedly spoke about searching for a third location within the year!
To conclude, the couple reflected on the bright future for their art franchise for kids and their excitement for what’s to come. Already, they’ve experienced a large volume of business from referrals, be it from parents, kids, friends and neighboring businesses. They are only expecting these numbers to grow in their two Kidcreate Studios to help more and more kids get in touch with their creativity where Getting Messy is the Best!
