Kidcreate Studio is a franchise concept focused on children’s art enrichment classes, camps and birthday parties available for children ages 18 months through 12 years that got started after Lara, the soon-tp-be-owner of Kidcreate Studio, being frustrated by the limited art exposure her child was receiving at school. Finding nothing that met her requirements, Lara began to envision an art studio designed for her child that would combine quality art education within a kid-friendly environment.
In 2008, Lara founded Kidcreate Studio. Soon after opening the studio, Lara launched Kidcreate’s On-The-Go Studio division which creates partnerships within the community that enables Kidcreate Studio to bring the great teachers and curriculum being used at the studio to other organizations such as; community education centers, parks and recreations programs, elementary schools, preschools and daycares.
As the leader in the underserved child art education industry and inspired by the success of both studios, Lara made the decision to “paint the states” with art and offer franchise opportunities with Kidcreate Studio. Lara identified franchising as a way to continue the Kidcreate mission to pick up where public education has become more limited and bridge the art education gap.
Where did the idea for Kidcreate Studio come from?
The idea for the first Kidcreate Studio originated after I became discouraged by the limited amount of art exposure and education my son, Jake, was receiving at school. Jake was experiencing a lot of frustrations in his other classes and found tremendous joy and solace in art.
How do you bring ideas to life?
There is a wonderful book written by David Allen titled “Getting Things Done”. In the book, the author describes a system that utilized project packets. I have taken that idea and modified it for my own use.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
Before leaving the office on Fridays, I always update my to-do list and plan out what I want to accomplish the following week.
